 "Storm across the Flatlands" 18" x 24"
On my last trip in May heading to northern New Mexico and southern Colorado I was just outside of Amarillo as a storm was brewing. I've always had a "thing" for storms and the atmospheric and moody skies they produce.
The flat vast expanse of land provided a great contrast to the swirling, dynamic storm clouds...the clouds were cool blues and purples while the ground was mostly warm with shades of gold, greens and reds. While driving I snapped a nice progression, through my windshield and splattered bugs, of the clouds as they rolled across the sky. I couldn't wait to get started on this painting when I returned...took a few liberties with some added mountains.
On a different note we experienced the miracle of life last week with the birth of our precious grandson. Our son, Matt, and Shelly are the proud parents of this wonderful blessing. Welcome Greyson Matthew Neumann!
